Day 26: Email Inbox {31 Days of Easy Decluttering}

Spread the love

Welcome back to 31 Days of Easy Decluttering!  If you’ve missed any of the previous posts, there are links to them all here.

Today’s Easy Decluttering Project

Today we’re talking about decluttering your email inbox.  It’s not physical clutter, but it can be just as overwhelming.  When your inbox is overflowing, you can miss important deadlines or waste time re-reading emails before following up with them.

Now, I’m not expecting you to declutter your inbox in 10-15 minutes.  If you’ve got hundreds or thousands of emails to process, it will take time.  But doing 10-15 minutes every day will add up to a couple of hours a week.  Over time you’ll have that inbox back to a manageable number!

Purging Tips for Emails

I did a series on purging emails previously, so I’m going to refer you to that today.  Each post has a variety of tips from me and from the internet.  You can skip over the parts that are about my progress and just jump to the tips sections if you want 🙂

Don’t forget to take before and after pictures to share!  {You can take screenshots of your inbox or use the worksheet I share in the first post and take screenshots of it}

Here are all the posts:

Challenge Introduction & Printable Worksheet
Week 1: Done is Better Than Perfect
Week 2: Deleting “Easy” Emails
Week 3: Tips for Maintaining a Clean Inbox
Week 4: Incoming Emails
Week 5: Become an Email Ninja
Week 6: Processing Multiple Emails
Week 7: Take Control of Your Inbox
Week 8: 7 Steps to Email Success
Week 9: Final Update Lots of Tips

If your inbox just needs a little tweaking or maintenance {like any organizing project!}, then take a few minutes today to take care of that, so you can go back to enjoying a clutter-free inbox.  Then take the rest of the day off as a reward 🙂

But if your inbox is overwhelming, choose one or two of the links above and spend 10-15 minutes decluttering as many emails as you can. Every little bit helps!

If You’re On A Roll…

You can do more than 10-15 minutes today.  I found if I got on a roll I was able to get through a lot of emails in an hour or 2 and seeing the progress pumped me up to keep going.

Or today you can catch up on another decluttering task you missed.

Good luck with today’s decluttering project!  I’d love to hear how you did, so please leave a comment and use the hashtag #31DaysEasyDecluttering when you share your pictures.

How many emails did you declutter today?  How do you organize your inbox to help keep it clutter free?
