Day 13 – Organizing Grocery Bags {31 Cheap & Easy DIY Organizers}

Spread the love

Think you have to spend a lot of money on costly organizing tools to get your house in order?  Nope!  Getting organized doesn’t have to be expensive!

Here are some cheap, free and easy DIY organizers for your grocery bags.  Some are for plastic bags if you still have them in your area. And some are for cloth reusable bags, which are more common and even the law in some places.

  • For reusable cloth bags, many people sacrifice one bag and store the rest of their bags in that.
  • Hanging one bag with others inside, or hanging each individual bag, on hooks, is a great option, but it can take up a lot of space, depending on how many bags you have.
  • You can roll your bags and store them in a basket so they’re easy to grab when you’re heading out shopping.
  • If you have a baby or toddler, you probably have lots of empty baby wipes containers in your home.  Use them to contain your plastic grocery bags!

  • Here’s another option if you don’t have baby wipes containers.  Use an empty tissue box to store your plastic bags where you need them.  You can have a few of these in different places in your home.  And if you wanted to, you could decorate the box to match your decor. You could do a similar thing with a cleaning wipes container.  It’s perfect for places like your car where you only need a few bags.

  • You can also repurpose various office organizing products to keep your reusable bags organized like magazine holders or file organizers.
  • And check out ideas online for organizing gift bags, because many of those will work for organizing grocery bags as well.
  • If you want to store some bags in your car, so they’re ready when you’re shopping (which means you don’t have to buy more bags!), you can use the seat back pocket behind the driver’s seat to store a few.
  • If you like to keep your bags near the door, you can also use a back-of-the-door pocket organizer to store rolled up bags.
  • Here’s a great tutorial for folding reusable bags to save you lots of space and keep those bags under control
