31 Days of Organizing Tips: Day 16 (Bathrooms – Wall Space)
Welcome to Day Sixteen of the 31 Days of Organizing Tips series! Throughout this series I’m sharing organizing tips to help you on your journey from overwhelmed to organized.
Today’s tips are about organizing your bathrooms by making use of your walls.
Here are some great ideas on how you can do that:
1. Use wall space to store towels if you don’t have room for a cupboard or closet. I love this creative use of baskets!
Here’s another similar idea using a towel bar to hang small baskets from (good for wash cloths, hand towels, as well as toiletries, etc.). Check out the link for a tutorial.
You can also use a wine rack as a towel rack and maximize your use of wall space. Doesn’t that look pretty?
2. Use wall space to also hang your wet towels, especially if several people share the same bathroom. Command hooks, towel bars, a row of hooks or an over-the-door rack are all great options. Or you can get creative. I love the idea of using a coat tree or a coat rack like the one pictured below!
3. Install a shelf above your door to store extra toiletries or towels. You can store these items in baskets or jars so it doesn’t look cluttered. To DIY this, see the tutorial below.
4. Use the back of the door to hang a shoe organizer for keeping bathroom items accessible. This helps keeps your counters clutter free, especially if you don’t have drawers in your bathroom. This one is from my linen closet for our overflow toiletries (we use our bathroom door for towels) but it gives you the idea.

5. Use mason jars for storing items such as toothbrushes and toothpaste, or eyeliner and make-up brushes, or cotton balls and Qtips.
