Tracking Sheets for 365 Items in 365 Days!

Spread the love

Over the years, there’s been an amazing response to the 365 Items in 365 Days Declutter Challenge!  So many of you have joined our Facebook Group where we cheer each other on in our decluttering efforts.

If you missed the introduction to the challenge yesterday, you can read it here.

In this post, I’m sharing a few ways you can track your progress in this challenge.  You don’t have to use them, but it’s a great way to keep motivated because you can see how far you’ve come.

Both options look pretty much the same.  There are columns for Item #, Date, Item, Donated, Sold, and Gave Away.

This is what the spreadsheet looks like:

And this is what the printable sheet looks like for those who prefer a pen and paper version over a spreadsheet:

You can download them both at the end of this post.

Here are a few suggestions on how to use these tracking sheets:

  • As you declutter items from your home, fill in the details. This way you’ll be able to see your progress through the year and you won’t forget anything you’ve purged
  • You can add as much detail as you’d like (or not)
  • For the Donated column – You can record the approximate value of the item.  That way if you’re able to claim it on your taxes (depends on the type of item and where you live), you’ll have all your records ready! (Just make a note of where you keep the receipts you get for your donated items)
  • For the Sold column – You can record the value you received for the item.  At the end of the year you’ll have a record of the money you made selling your clutter!
  • For the Gave Away column – You can record who you gave the item to.  That way if you find other parts of it or similar items you’ll be able to pass them on as well
  • If you don’t want to keep all those details, you can keep it simple and just put check marks in the last 3 columns to keep track of what you did with it!
  • And, if you don’t want to be bothered with any of the details, a good ole’ fashioned numbered list or tally chart is fine too (you can fit more on the page that way!)

How you record your progress is up to you.  These are just suggestions.  No one is checking what you do.

A few more notes:

  • If you know your way around a spreadsheet, feel free to modify this one to suit your own needs
  • If you’d like something modified on the printable sheet, just ask and I’ll see what I can do (you can comment below, post a question in the Facebook group, send me a message on Facebook, or email me Hilda @ FromOverwhelmedToOrganized .com).
  • You can print as many copies of the printable tracking sheet as you need to track your purging

OK, here are the links to download both sheets.

I’m really excited for the year ahead and helping you declutter!  One item a day may not seem like a lot, but over the course of a year, it will really add up.  And if you’ve got a lot of clutter around you, then one item a day is a great target because it’s not overwhelming.

Have you joined the 365 in 365 Challenge yet?  Which tracking sheet do you like better?  What items in your home do you think will be the easiest to declutter?
